Whether you’re a die-hard pizza lover or just looking for a fun and delicious snack, these little pockets of goodness are sure to hit the spot. So, roll up your sleeves, preheat that oven, and let’s get baking!

WHAT YOU NEED

Now, before we dive into the recipe, let’s gather up our ingredients. You’ll need some basic pantry staples like butter, garlic, and Parmesan, along with pizza dough, marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese, and your favorite toppings. It’s a simple lineup, but when combined, it creates magic in every bite.

Little Caesars sells two versions of these Pizza Puffs! One with pepperoni and one without pepperoni. I used turkey pepperoni to make this but you can also opt to make the vegetarian version with this.

HOW TO MAKE IT

First things first, let’s whip up that irresistible garlic butter. Melt some butter, mix in garlic, Parmesan, and a sprinkle of herbs – trust me, this stuff is liquid gold. I like to add in fresh parsley but you can opt for dried parsley. This step is optional but I think it adds an extra layer of flavor. You can also just opt for plain melted butter or even olive oil. Brush the melted butter inside each cup in a muffin tin.

Divide your pizza dough into little balls, pop them into a cupcake tin, and let them rise until they’re nice and fluffy. Once they’ve puffed up, use a small glass or the bottom of a muddler to push down the center and make a cup shape. Brush the insides with more garlic butter too! Now it’s time to fill them with marinara, cheese, and whatever toppings your heart desires. A sprinkle of Italian seasoning on top, and into the oven they go until golden and bubbly. Here is the arrangement of layers I followed but it’s not that serious as long as you finish it off with lots of cheese to cover the top!

  • pizza dough
  • marinara sauce
  • mozzarella cheese
  • turkey pepperoni
  • marinara
  • turkey pepperoni
  • mozzarella cheese

Feel free to tweak the layers as you see fit whether you like more cheese, less sauce, or even prefer to add in some veggies instead of meat. There’s no wrong way to do this. Just make sure to add lots of mozzarella cheese on top to cover the entire surface area. The cheese around the edges is what will create that crispy texture. If you want the sides to be crispy as well, add mozzarella cheese and/or parmesan cheese before adding the dough in so it crisps up as it bakes!

THE DOUGH

For the dough, I just used the same recipe I always use from the digital ECOOKBOOK which you can purchase here. It literally takes me five minutes to make and I always prepare it the night before so it can be ready to go the next day.

Another option if you don’t want to make your own dough from scratch is to just buy store-bought dough. My two favorite options are the pizza dough from Trader Joe’s and Rhode Dinner Rolls which you can find in the freezer section in most supermarkets. If purchasing Rhode dinner rolls, just add one piece into each cupcake, cover, and let it proof in a warm place. Because they are frozen, they will take a bit longer to prepare compared to homemade dough or the one from Trader Joe’s.

ENJOYING THE PIZZA PUFFS

Now comes the best part – digging in! Once your Pizza Puffs are out of the oven, let them cool for a few minutes (if you can resist), then get ready to indulge. These little guys are perfect for snacking on during movie nights, serving up as appetizers at gatherings, or simply enjoying whenever a pizza craving strikes. And trust me, with that cheesy, garlicky goodness, they’ll disappear faster than you can say “more please!” It’s essential to enjoy with some ranch to dip in on the side.

OMG…. I am obsessed. These were so easy to make and SO delicious. I don’t think you need as much garlic butter as this recipe calls for but I feel like this is a “measure with your heart” type of recipe anyway :D. I haven’t tried the Little Caesar’s bites but I’m confident these are wayyy better.

These were AWESOME! Full disclosure, I didn’t have time to make my own dough, so I used store bought and they were great! Thanks for the recipe. 🙂

This is simple and wonderful!! I made my own New York style dough, which meant very little pre-prep. The pizza cupcakes are tasty inside and out!
