Creamy Ramen Noodles!

Let’s learn how to make the most delicious creamy ramen noodles in under 30 minutes! The sauce is a little sweet, a little spicy, and very much addicting. Enjoy it vegetarian or add steak and tons of veggies – either way, it’s absolutely delicious and the most comforting meal!

I don’t know if any of you else have tried the Buldak Korean spicy noodles but let me tell you, that they are way too spicy for me to handle! They are so delicious though, especially the actual ramen, so one day I thought let me make my own sauce inspired by the carbonara flavor and use the noodles from the pack. So that’s exactly what I did and now we have my favorite recipe born that I’m so excited to share with you!

Making the Sauce

The sauce is super simple to make and takes around 10 to 15 minutes.

Here are the ingredients you will need:

  • butter
  • olive oil
  • garlic
  • tomato paste
  • ginger
  • hoisin sauce
  • oyster sauce
  • low sodium soy sauce
  • heavy cream
  • parmesan
  • red pepper flakes
  • parsley

Start out by sautéing the garlic and tomato paste in the butter and olive oil until it deeps in color. This will remove the acidity from the tomato paste.

Then add the ginger paste, hoisin, oyster, and soy sauce. Whisk together until smooth and then stream in the heavy cream. Mix until a sauce forms and simmer for a minute or two.

Finally, add the parmesan, red pepper flakes, and parsley. Mix together, taste, and adjust anything to your liking. I do not add any additional salt to this recipe as a lot of the other ingredients contain salt. If you think it needs, feel free to add. If you think it is too salty, add a little bit of the water you used to boil the noodles in.

To make this meal more wholesome, I like to add steak and sautéed red bell peppers. Feel free to add any protein of choice and any other sautéed veggies!

Which Noodles to Use

Feel free to use your favorite ramen or noodles. The one I like to use is the Samyang Ramen. I just take out the ramen to use but not the sauce or seasoning packets. You can also use bucatini, udon, or any other ramen that you fancy!

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon finely minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons ginger paste
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 to 1/3 cup grated parmesan
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes more to taste
  • 2 tablespoons parsley finely chopped
  • 8 ounces noodles of choice

OTHER

  • steak
  • sauted red bell peppers
  • sesame seeds and green onions optional garnishes

Instructions

  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil and cook noodles according to package instructions.
  • In a saucepan, add the butter and olive oil over medium heat. Add the garlic and tomato paste and cook for about 4 to 5 minutes. The tomato paste will darken in color from a bright red to reddish brown. This process removes acidity from the tomato paste.
  • Add the ginger paste, hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, and low sodium soy sauce. Mix well and then addd the heavy cream and mix until smooth. Simmer for about 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Add in the grated parmesan, red pepper flakes, and chopped parsley and mix again until it is all melted into the sauce.
  • Taste and adjust anything to your liking. If you want it more spicy, add more red pepper flakes or I like to add sriracha.
  • Toss in the cooked noodles and mix to coat evenly. Optional, add in sautéed bell peppers and steak.
  • Top it off with green onions and sesame seeds to enjoy!
