The Best Garlic Bread

Ingredients
- 1 16 oz French bread loaf
- 1 cup unsalted butter room temperature
- 1/4 cup parsley finely chopped
- 2 1/2 tbsp garlic minced
- 1/3 cup parmesan grated
- 1 tsp salt or to taste
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- shredded mozzarella optional
Instructions
- Preheat oven to broil or 500°F.
- Cut the loaf in half horizontally. Then the cut each half in half again but vertically so you have 4 pieces.
- In a small bowl, mix butter with parsley, garlic, parmesan, salt, black pepper, and oregano.
- Spread butter mixture over each piece generously. Optional, add shredded mozzarella
- Place on a baking tray and pop in the oven.
- Broil for a few minutes, about 3 to 6 minutes. Watch very closely as it can easily burn under broil very fast. Once the top becomes golden brown and the cheese is bubbly, take out of the oven.
- Slice diagonally or across into small pieces and serve.
Tips & Notes
- If you do like your garlic bread extra crispy, bake it at 350°F until golden, about 10 minutes. Then add cheese on top and broil until the cheese bubbles.
