Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte

The most refreshing drink that’s fruity, sweet, and has the perfect caffeine kick from the green tea - it’s an iced strawberry matcha latte! It’s absolutely delicious and super easy to make so you can skip a trip to the boba shop and save your money.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup strawberries, diced very small
  • 1/4 to 1/3 cup granulated white sugar
  • 1 cup half & half, oat milk , or whole milk
  • 2 to 3 teaspoons matcha powder
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla syrup, more or less to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the diced strawberries with the white sugar. Mix together and let it sit for 30 minutes.
  2. Bring water to a boil. Add the matcha to a small bowl and 2 tablespoons of the water and whisk until there are no more clumps and it's completely smooth. Add the rest of the water and whisk again until smooth. Pop in the fridge for a few minutes to cool down.
  3. To a cup, add a few tablespoons of the macerated strawberries. Then add lots of ice on top.
  4. Gently stream in the half and half on top to fill the cup two-thirds full.
  5. Finally, add the matcha on top in a gentle stream. Stir together with a straw and enjoy!

Notes

  • To make the drink easier to enjoy with a straw, mash the strawberries a bit with a fork after letting them sit for 30 minutes. Another option is to put it into a blender but I prefer a few small chunks.
  • Feel free to customize the sweetness of the strawberries and the matcha to your taste.
  • This recipes makes about 2 drinks!
  • If you have any macerated strawberries leftover, store in an airtight container or jar and keep in the fridge.
  • You can sweeten the matcha with vanilla syrup, maple syrup, or simple syrup.
